The Day I Kissed An Older Man – Chapter 69

Chapter 69

“He’s not just handsome. He has this super intimidating aura too. I bet he’s the mysterious guest invited by the school.”

Just as Corinne was giving her concluding remarks, she noticed something odd about everyone’s reaction. It was almost as if they were staring at someone behind her.

She turned around and was completely surprised. Why is he here?!

Jeremy’s thoughtful gaze swept across her as he stepped forward. His tall figure stood beside her, and he reached out to raise the microphone to his mouth. His low, magnetic voice resonated throughout the auditorium.

“Hello everyone. I’m here as Corinne’s family, and I’d like to thank the University of New Capital City for all the care they have given to Corinne. I don’t have much time, so I’ll keep this brief. I’m donating a laboratory building to the university in Corinne’s name as a token of appreciation for all that the university has done for her.”

Corinne was speechless. Is he okay or something?

The audience erupted in excitement. The university’s top management was shocked. No one expected a building to be gifted out of nowhere!

“Whoa! Guess you don’t need to talk much if you’re handsome. You can just donate a building!”

“He’s the most dashing man I’ve ever seen, and he doesn’t even bat an eye when he donates that building! Does anyone know who he is to Corinne?”

“He says he’s family, so I’m guessing he’s her brother? But they don’t look alike at all!”

“He’s young, so he can’t be her father, right?”

The University dean took the stage excitedly. “Fellow students, let us thank Corinne and her family for their generous donation. How about a round of applause!”

A thunderous applause followed.

Ivanka’s face turned sour. Her pride was trampled. Corinne had stolen the spotlight again! The three pianos her father promised to donate earlier seemed insignificant in comparison.

Dmn it! Corinne is supposed to be an illegitimate daughter nobody cares about! Who’s that handsome, wealthy man on stage with her?*

At that moment, during a short break, a hurried freshman said, “Something big happened, Francine! I heard your brother donated a building to the school!”

Francine, still red-eyed from being scolded by her brother over her studies, was overjoyed. “I knew my brother still cares for me! I’m glad he donated the building so the teachers will be nicer to me during exams!”

Her classmate corrected her awkwardly, “Umm… he didn’t donate it because of you.”

Francine waved her hand dismissively. “Don’t play around with me. Who else would he donate it for?”

The classmate explained regretfully, “I swear it’s not for you. It’s for a senior graduate named Corinne.”

Francine stared in shock. “Corinne? She’s a student at the University of New Capital City?!”

The classmate added, “Corinne is a legend here. She was the top scorer of her year in the national university entrance exam, and no one has surpassed her scores! She didn’t even apply to this university—our dean personally invited her!”

“That’s right! Our senior, Chester Mansfield, is in love with her, but he hasn’t won her heart even after three years!”

Francine’s anger grew, and the revelation shattered her further. She had a crush on Chester, but he liked Corinne!

Her classmate continued, “I didn’t know your brother had two younger sisters! Is Corinne your older sister? Why doesn’t she have the Holden surname?”

Francine spat, “Corinne isn’t my brother’s sister!”

Her classmate looked puzzled. “Then who is she? How did your brother attend her graduation as her family and donate a building in her name?”

Francine gritted her teeth. “She’s…”
